Valuable intends to utilize its digital media delivery competency through IP streaming
and store and play technologies using the existing LCO infrastructure. It offers
seamless last mile delivery to homes over IP, ATSC, DVB-S, DVB-C, DVB-T and DOCSIS,
Thus allows minimal last mile infrastructure requirement for HD content delivery.

The High Definition encoded content is encrypted using highest security level
encryption and such encrypted
content is delivered from central Network Operation
Centre (NOC) to all the LCO Head-ends via satellite
delivery using selective IP
based multicasting.
All premium films are
received at the LCO Head-end in the Media Gateway Server & from there, directed
to customer STB for storage in encrypted format. The High Definition encrypted content
travels on the coaxial
network of LCO from the Media Gateway Server through the
CMTS and reaches the customer STB via
the Cable Modem installed at customer premises.
The entire transmission
of Premium Movie Contents, from the LCO Head-end to the consumer STB, shall be
akin
to the existing transmission of cable TV channels.
The data in digital form
originating from the Media gateway is converted into analogue signal in the CMTS
and this analogue signal shall travel on the coaxial cable network using RF/IF.
This analogue signal shall enter
the Cable Modem at customer premise where it is
converted into digital signal and from the cable modem
it travels on Ethernet cable
to the STB and the encrypted content gets stored on the STB.
Although the Premium
Movie Content is available on the STB, since it is in an encrypted format, it cannot
be viewed by the customer unless he secures the playback license from Valuable.

from the LCO Head-end to the consumer STB, of the library movies shall be akin to
the
existing transmission of cable TV channels.
The digital streaming
data originating from the Media gateway server is converted into analogue signal
in the
CMTS and this analogue signal shall travel on the coaxial cable network using
RF/IF. This analogue signal
shall enter the cable modem at customer premise where
it is converted into digital signal and from the cable
modem it travels on Ethernet
cable to the STB.
The streaming content
shall pass through the STB and over AV / HDMI out shall reach the television set
of
the customer.
Thus within a fraction
of second from the selection of the movie the streaming content shall reach the
customer television and the movie is available for viewing.
Limited portion of
streaming content gets cached/ buffered (temporarily stored) on a continuous basis
in
the STB. Such caching/buffering enables seamless viewing experience for the viewer.

DMR Platform allows the IPR owner to reach out to its potential customer and deliver
his
content in an encrypted form. This ready to view encrypted content can be viewed
by the customer once he
pays the rental charge.

set up gives the IPR owner choice to rent out his movie in different formats and
create
various ‘renting products’ such as ‘One Time View’, ‘Two or more views in
a given time frame’, ‘24 hours
access to content with unlimited views’, ‘more than
one day views’, ‘off peak time view’ and price each
product differently.
Once the customer
selects the movie for viewing on the STB, the stated price of the film gets deducted
from
the smart card installed in the STB. The customer has various options for topping
up credit on his smart card
such as mobile pay, internet based payment, top up coupons
available with LCO etc.
Upon selection of
the desired movie and payment of the rent through smart card the viewer gets complete
discretion of viewing the High Definition content for specific period of time /
specified number of views as per
his convenience. He has complete freedom to rewind,
forward or pause the content as if he is playing his
own CD/DVD. This facility is
not available in streaming based transmission of library movies.
Repeated renting
- As long as the Premium Movie Content remains on the customer STB, the customer
can
choose to watch the Premium Movie Content over and again by choosing appropriate
renting product and
making payment of rent of such product.
Content Destruction
Format to customer for home viewing - Premium Movie Content
shall remain on the STB
for a specified period of time (at the discretion of the
Content owner) after which the moviebeam platform
shall auto destruct the encrypted
content from the STB and the same shall be made available as part of library
film
available for viewing in standard definition format over streaming solution.
